DISTANCE EDUCATION
Many people choose to study by distance education due to the
many benefits derived from this independent type of study.
Students choosing this mode of study find they are able to
better maintain their busy lifestyle and keep up with other
commitments such as family and employment, while furthering
their education.
Distance education is undertaken at your own pace, so you
determine how long you take to complete your course, when and
where you study, and how much time you spend studying each week.
This is a flexible mode of study where you are free to develop
your own study schedule.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does a distance course cost?
Each individual course will cost the same irrespective of the
type of study mode chosen. Refer to the Application Form for
courses fees.
How long will it take for me to complete the course?
You can take as little or as long as you like to complete the
course. This depends on how long you take to complete your
assessment requirements.
How will I be assessed?
• Assignments submitted to course coordinator
• Written examination
• A completed Log Book
• Observation checklist completed by supervisor
• Visual evidence demonstrating techniques contained within the
course notes and DVD
The candidate connects with a suitably qualified and experienced
person to observe their work. This supervisor connects with the
course coordinator and acts as an observer. They do not need to
be an assessor.
How do I go about getting recognition for prior learning (RPL)
RPL will be assessed on an individual basis. Discuss with course
coordinator.
