Most frequently asked questions
How does a person know if they need colon hydrotherapy?
Everyone can benefit from some internal cleansing. A healthy colon is essential to a healthy body. Every day our bodies are exposed to toxins and pollutants in the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat. Our modern lifestyle has taken its toll on our digestive and eliminatory organs. Refined, processed, low fibre foods, too little exercise, not enough rest, lack of water and ever increasing levels of stress all contribute to the current problems we have with our health.
What are some of the symptoms of an overloaded colon?
Constipation/diarrhoea, parasite infestation, low energy levels, menstrual problems, skin conditions, insomnia, depression, headaches, poor digestion, protruding, tender or hard abdomen, prostate/bladder problems, excessive burping and flatulence, candidiasis arthritis, mood swings, haemorrhoids, weakened immunity, excess weight, malnourishment.
How many will I need?
After your first colonic your colon therapist will be able to advise you based on several factors:
* What is observed during the treatment
* Your health history
* Your current level of bowel build-up
* Your bowel health
* Your health goals
Generally a series of treatments are necessary, then, depending on the individual, maintenance colonics throughout the year. Remember, colonics are a process of removing impacted matter that has been built upon the colon wall, layer by layer over many years.
But won't I lose good bacteria?
The healthy bacteria in the average colon are more than likely overrun by destructive bacteria. It is a well known fact that good bacteria (the bacteria which is needed for proper digestion), has difficulty surviving when the colon is impacted with old, putrefied, toxic matter. In fact, one of the aims of colon hydrotherapy is to create a more healthy and balanced bowel environment where good bacteria can flourish.
What happens during a treatment?
Colon hydrotherapy involves the gentle internal cleansing of the colon via the rectum. This occurs as a series of warm, filtered water infusions where the colon is alternately filled and emptied. Treatments are combined with a soothing abdominal massage, further encouraging the removal of hardened faecal matter. By the way, there is no odour or noise and you can see the eliminations, as they occur, through a glass viewing tube!
How long does it take?
Treatments last approximately forty-five minutes and are comfortable and completely safe. The most up to date colon hydrotherapy instruments are used, which have built-in water pressure, volume and temperature regulators.
Disposable accessories are used.
The hoses and speculums which also be extremely useful for people undergoing drug and alcohol detoxification programs as an aid in the internal cleansing process aiding the elimination of toxins from the colon and circulatory systems.
What are the costs of the treatment?
An initial consultation which take about 30 minutes will cost $35.00. All Colon Hydrotherapy treatments cost a flat $75 a treatment.
